Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is additional funding to help schools close the attainment gap between disadvantaged children and their peers. If a child is eligible for free school meals (FSM) or has been at any point over the past 6 years the school will receive £1345 per pupil.
The school also receives £2,345 of funding for each looked after child (LAC), and the same amount for those who cease to remain LAC because of adoption, a special guardianship order, or child arrangements order.
A provision of £310 is also made for children who have or have had a parent in the armed forces. Pupil Premium is dependent upon parents/carers completing the appropriate documentation. If you think your child may be eligible please download a form here and return it to school once completed.
In George Washington Primary School, Pupil Premium funding is spent in a variety of ways to improve pupil attainment. Whilst academic support is a key feature, the school will also use the money in other ways to overcome barriers to learning.
