Mayan Hieroglyphics- 05.02.2020
We had a fun afternoon learning about Mayan hieroglyphics and the writing system they used. We even had the opportunity to carve our own Mayan hieroglyphics.
Beamish Museum Christmas Trip- 19.12.19
Everyone had a fantastic time on our trip to Beamish Museum where we took part in ice skating and had the opportunity to go on carnival rides. We enjoyed making Christmas cookies which we were able to eat when we arrived back at school. Sadly we ate all of them so there were not any left for the staff!
Carnival Day- 18.10.19
We had a brilliant day designing our own carnival masks. We analysed a variety of Brazilian carnival masks before creating our own design. Everyone enjoyed using a range of materials and colours to make a vibrant mask. At the end of the day, we even had our own Brazilian carnival down the corridor with samba drums!
Centre For Life - 30.09.19
Macmillan Coffee Morning - 28.09.19
Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed making their own cupcakes as part of our Macmillan Coffee Morning. We hope you enjoyed them!
Excavating Fossils - 10.9.19
Year 6 had a fascinating time excavating replica fossils. They enjoyed pretending to be paleontologists for the afternoon and finding out how fossils are made.
